Some call it art, I call it heART.
It’s not a job, it’s a way of life.
I live my life and my art with my heart, with my true, pure and raw emotions. My passion for life, for beauty, for the small things in life…THAT is what drives me. There is not a single thing in my life that I do that I don’t give it 150% heart. Why do it if your heart is not in it?
Some may not understand this approach to my life or my “job.” Not everyone lives their life with their heart and their pure emotion. Some live life with logic. Others just fly by the seat of their pants not really taking much into account at all. We are all different. That is what makes life so beautiful!!
Some may think that “this photography thing” is just a way for me to make money or just for fun. For some photographers, photography may be just that. For me, I wake up in the morning and see my world in moments, memories that I want to hold onto forever. Moments that should be captured & kept forever, fleeting moments that go by so quickly.
My approach to my art is through my heart. If you have ever had a session with me, you know exactly what I mean. I love to laugh & play & love and capture all of those beautiful moments, those connections. I like to get to know you, learn your likes, hear your stories and capture who you are inside. My approach is not posed or stuffy or smile for the camera. Mind you, we do get a few shots that are a bit more “formal” but nothing like you’d get from a “box photographer.” If that is what you want, then I need to know ahead of time, so I can make sure we get the formal, posed, close up, tight cropped, photos that you are looking for. I do strive to make YOU happy. Like I’ve said….my heart goes into this. I capture those precious moments and those heart felt connections, I excitedly return quickly to my computer, back up your photos, spend hours retouching them, smiling back at you and/or your children’s smiling faces. I then blog them and create a custom gallery just for you. The time I spend on your photos is not just time, it’s heart, it’s love and attention to every detail.

I’m pretty darn sure that he thinks she hung the moon. He couldn’t stop looking at her with those googly eyes and that little smile. I loved hearing the story of how he took her to Lapham Peak to the tower to propose and how she had ripped the ring out of a magazine and given it to him and how he went out and FOUND the exact ring she had jokingly given to him some time before and how it was rainy and windy and not the best weather…but like he told her, no matter where he is or what the weather is, he will be happy as long as he has her. *sigh* I actually got chills as he was telling the story. I had such a good time with this gorgeous couple!! My goal was to convey the fun, the love & the passion these two have for each other. I hope you enjoy their photos as much as I enjoyed getting to share in observing how much they love & care for one another.
They are BOTH soldiers in the United States Army!!! Thank you both from the bottom of my heart for your service to Our Country.

This little dude was one of my very first newborns I ever photographed. He was also the winner of the Best of 2009 contest. I was so excited to get the privilege to meet with him again. When Mama got him out of the car & told me he was grumpy because he missed his nap, I was a bit nervous of what migh happen in the hour that followed. I just have to say, I wish every grumpy child acted like this one!!! He is sooooo super adorable. I just wanted to love all over him. What a fun time we had!

Last night I had the extreme pleasure of meeting Emilia. When she stepped out of the car, I could tell we were going to have fun! What a unique style & personality!! Coming from me, who HATES to be like everybody else, I could tell she and I were going to get along just fine. Oh yeah, did I mention….she’s GORGEOUS!! We had a blast shooting!!! It was so great to meet you Emma!! Be sure to make your Sr. year the best one yet!!! Keep being uniquely you!!! You are awesome, girl!!

I was extremely excited when Becca contacted me to do her senior photos!!! We went over all of the details of her dress, her ideas, my ideas. I was sooooo excited to get photos of her with her horse, Pearl. I had so many great ideas with her in her gorgeous gown which included Pearl. But, as you can see…..Pearl was NOT afraid to show me what she REALLY thought of me!! 😉 We had such a fun time, even IF Pearl didn’t like me much Thanks, Becca!!! Here’s wishing you an amazing senior year!!!
